MAC Tracker

This week in MAC football brought Rivalry week, the end of the regular season and the winners of the MAC West and East. Toledo beat hated BG in double overtime and set up a chance for yet another MAC Championship appearance...against the Falcons again no less. All they needed was for Western to beat Northern Illinois....which didn't happen. And then powerhouse Akron beat maybe the worst team in college football Kent State and eliminated BG from the MAC title game. So we went from an awesome UT-BG rematch at Ford Field for the title (which fans, ESPN and especially my family would have loved) to...wow...the Akron Zips vs. the NIU Huskies. Who cares? Toledo still has a great shot at a bowl bid at 8-3 (probably the GMAC Bowl) because no one at all wants Akron for a bowl game. This Thursday, the MAC Championship Game...

Monday, November 21
Miami 38, at Ohio 7

Tuesday, November 22
Toledo 44, at Bowling Green 41 - double overtime

Wednesday, November 23
at Northern Illinois 42, Western Michigan 7

Thursday, November 24
at Akron 35, Kent State 3
